Inspired by the delicate form of Croatia's national flower, tkdp's proposal for the Maksimir Stadium international competition blossoms into a dynamic architectural landmark, one that grows naturally from the heart of Maksimir Park and celebrates the nation's identity and culture. More than a home for football, Maksimir Stadium holds a special place in Zagreb's sporting culture and collective memory. Rather than simply replacing one stadium with another, the proposal reimagines the entire precinct as one continuous civic meadow that extends the spirit of Maksimir Park and opens the site to the city.
